What does this woman and others want, the inquiry judge to be selected from a resident of those flats?

It always seems strange (though not unexpected) that black people say that white people cannot possibly understand their problems. Imagine this then: the victims of a tragedy are predominantl y white, middle class and “posh”. A black judge is appointed to head an enquiry. A white MP suggests that a black judge cannot possibly understand the problems...

Talbot, I'm not sure if Mikey has forgotten what he said at 08.05, or whether he is now back-pedalling..... but apparently Lammy's comments were racist.
//especially Lammy, in his daft racial comments. //
mikey is not saying Lammy's comment was racist, naomi.
I think he pondered long and hard about how to phrase that particular sentence.
Thankfully mikey just questions people on random stuff .... the problems arise when people like mikey get into jobs like, well let's say police officers, social workers and council chiefs.

I seem to recall some months, back when Judges were accused of political bias in a Referendum ruling, that all the people who now agree that this Judge may suffer from personal influences in his findings in this inquiry were insistent that Judges did not let personal or political leanings in any way affect their opinions in legal matters. Meehh.
I'm simplistic on this. The judge's background and experience make him ideal choice to lead this enquiry. To say otherwise (especially if matters of colour of skin come into it) is to be deliberately contrary and probably mischief-making. The proper process is being undertaken, it may take a long time. The people who protest so loudly need to understand this, This is how it is. Nothing fast will happen courtwise. Faster rehoming would be welcome - but could I point out that most people in this country do not live in London, yet are happy and employed. It may even be an advantage to be moved away from what sounds like a ghetto.
NJ I posted the same sentiments as your BA a few days ago. Nice to know we think alike on a lot of things. :)

We have to remember that this inquiry is mainly to find out how the refurbishment program went so wrong that dangerously flammable cladding was used. There are also inquests into the deaths and a police investigation into possible manslaughter charges, both completely separate from this inquiry .
Many people , including the MP, are getting the different investigations mixed up. As I said earlier this affair will go on for many years yet!

well - lets us think of a council chief - Nick the Useless of West Ken spring to mind ( "Nick the Witless ? what-less I mean" quip a 1000 AB humourists) -
and the problem is that Nick is like Mikey ?
Do you have any evidence for that statement - or is it an AB truth in the sense that someone says it so it must be true ?
My view is that Mikey, bleeding liberal heart or not, would have jumped up like Dick Barton and sprung into action
There are Others here whom I would expect to sit on the buttoms and just quip " Let it burn ! It saves us from finding out who they are deporting them ! " - but not Mikey
it is I suppose just a matter of opinion

One way of solving the issue is perhaps for the said elderly posh white judge to borrow a wig and makeup and state he now 'identfies himself' as a bisexual afro-carribean woman. Then why shouldn't "she" then have a photo op with Lammy, Corbyn and Levi Roots to celebrate score some clearly much needed points on the leftwing social acceptability scale? Clearly the "residents" are looking for some leftwing mouthpiece to stir up antagonism against the government. Any judge that fails to provoke '

What amazes me about this whole debate is that there is still complete chaos reining in Kensington. The Council has lost senior Staff, and the Government has now had to step in, albeit 3 weeks late.
In the immediate aftermath, it wasn't the local Council that came to these peoples aid. It was the locals themselves and charities
People who narrowly escaped with their lives 3 weeks ago are still living in Hotels, and have yet to be offered adequate housing.
And yet there are some people on here that would prefer to whitter away about 2 daft Labour MPs, rather than discuss the main problems.
is it any wonder that the people affected by the Grenfell disaster have no faith in any person in a suit and tie.

Lord Mersey who investigated the titanic disaster
[altho the carpathia sailed up and saved them - there was another boat = (ship X) spotted just off the titanic and sailed away - which was pleaded at the inquiry]
Lord Mersey said: "I just dont understand these numbers that everyone is saying at me"
he was talking about compass readings - oops well he was clearly the man for the job !
Lors Denning was chosen for the Profumo inquiry as it was thought he would probably get stuck on the sex bits. ( he did )
[that comment was on Mandarins choosing horses for courses]
