This stuff even happens to people with no connection to terrorism, you know, ordinary folk who don't do their job properly or whatever.
On balance I suppose Heathrow are pretty sure of their position and aren't leaving themselves open to being sued for wrongful dismissal.

As she has been in her job for a little over 4 months, they can get rid of her with relative inpunity and not face a case for unfair dismissal.
Obviously we will probably never know the reason for her dismissal but if it was related to her brother I have no doubt that the airport authorities will be able to justify it. On the other hand, I cant help feeling sorry for her if it is the case that she is appalled at her sibling's acts and she will probably be tarred with the same brush for years if not forever.

Pointless arguing about it. You can be sacked from a job any time in the first 2 years and the employer does not even have to give a reason.
The employer would have had so much negative publicity if they had continued to employ her that although I don't agree with it , I can't see they had much choice.
I'm just imagining the outcry on AB if word got out that she had a job at Heathrow!!

Islay, you'll love this (I hope!)
Mr Alba was being vetted for a construction job at a defence place, one of the questions in the form was along the lines of
'do you know or have any relatives who are terrorists?'
btw, Mr Alba wasn't even anywhere near Defence stuff, it was just to build a new office
