Morning mikey. "IMHO Mrs May should now appoint a Whitehall Team to take over every aspect of the Councils duties, and every Council Member should resign with immediate effect." Who would be willing to go on "any team" that would have to face the wrath of the residents in their present mood? I wouldn't......would you? The residents would only accept...
It would be interesting to see how many of the people shouting and stamping their feet actually live there.
You only have to look at some of the pictures to see a man in a gas mask and the next picture shows more masked "protesters" (for protesters see troublemakers).
Bernie, just after this tragedy happened ITV news showed a flat (which was clean and modern) being offered to a resident who refused it because it was on the ground floor.
/// One Grenfell family, who lived on the 10th floor and lost almost all their belongings, are currently being housed in a Kensington hotel and have turned down two offers of accommodation. ///
That's the reason, living in a Kensington Hotel free of charge.
But what I can't understand is the fast that they were offered other free accommodation almost immediately.
Why is it that there are homeless people on the streets of London, besides other families waiting on the housing lists, when there is obviously vacant housing to be had?
could an international arbitration specialist team be hired to take this on, they would be neutral neither left or right, if such firms or people exist, but would they be happy with that...probably not, im still thinking about the illegal immigrants and subleters who will not face investigation who were involved, im thinking some people would get the idea to start fires for compensation and new housing.
They should count themselves lucky that people are trying to make an effort, and there was no need for some of them to be so rude, and arrogant at the meeting.
If similar happened in the country they came from, they would probably be given £100.00, and told to build a home themselves, so if they are not happy, I will gladly pay for one of the tickets to go back!
You give some people an inch, and they want a mile!
It seems that you still believe, that migrants should come first, before our own people are housed, including ex service members, and other homeless people, who have hit bad times!
By the way, what happened to the Syrian family of five, who were subletting their accommodation in the tower, but turned up 5 days later, when people were told they would be given lots & lots of money?
trt...don't presume to know what I believe. Your post is ignorant, because it doesn't take into consideration the extreme tragedy that the Grenfell Tower disaster was.
And its nothing to do race and immigration, but well done for clouding this affair anyway....I expected nothing else from you.
I too suspect that much of this is politically motivated, after all who was it who used the term murderers first I wonder?
Perhaps the councillors should step down and put up for re-election. Given the majority of the borough is not Grenfell Tower material I doubt there will be much change. And there certainly wont be any change in the council officers who are not elected and make most of the decisions.
trt, I dont think your post is ignorant at all, you seem to have your eyes open unlike some others.
##Bernie, just after this tragedy happened ITV news showed a flat (which was clean and modern) being offered to a resident who refused it because it was on the ground floor.##
Tut-Tut, on the ground floor, poor them!
There are hundreds of homeless people, who would have snatched the keys for that flat.
I think some people are refusing immediate offers of accommodation as they fear that they will then end up living there permanently, so if there is more than one offer of a more suitable property is available to them, they will look around.
