Quite obvious unfortunately,

1) The burglar would be straight round to the police station to put in a complaint of keeping a dangerous dog indoors meaning they have infringed his 'ooman rights to burgle safely.
2) Then round to pond life r us to file his compo claim
3) Plod then straight round (3 armed cars cuple of bikes and a chopper probably) to arrest the home owners take the dog and put it down.

In my opinion though its a pity this doesn't happen to a few more burglars and low lives invading other peoples property they have worked hard or. Good Boy Oden, keep up the good work.

Gosh.....
I think you need to take a couple of 'Let's keep it in proportion' tablets, the earlier ones seem to be wearing off.

I don't think anyone will be shedding tears for the burglar. His identity should become quite apparent, soon enough, hopefully.
Deary me. What planet do you live on?
Seriously, are you well ?

Even by your standards, the above fantasist rant is completely bonkers. Seek medical attention urgently.

If they had been in the house when the burglar broke in or came home to find him in the house they could legally have shot and killed him! So he was lucky!

Yes Eddie, but I'm talking the UK.
And yes I am perfectly well thank you. OK a bit of exaggeration but I'm sure you get my drift which I am guessing is why you have decided to attack me rather than address the post since you know the underlying message is correct?
Lovely looking dog, nice teeth too : -)
I think that smells of fake story.
At least the dog didn't have a gun .

Dogs cant shoot. I guess you dont know how guns work if you think you can operate one with four paws on the floor?
Yes YMB I am on your side with this. Burglary should be declared a criminal offence !!! We should without question be allowed to remove any intruder from their breath without fear of prosecution. The dog should receive an award for a job well done.
American an dogs can shoot guns ( I'm told )
Could you please stop saying 'ooman rights' on every. single. thread. you. post. please?
We had a guard dog. She bit a few people over the years. Nothing ever came of it. She was doing her job!

(we lived in a pub)

I don't understand why your posts are so dramatic...
Good. Hopefully they'll also be able to catch the intruder with a DNA match from all the blood he left behind.
bit of a lefty love in guys, YMB is not far out. It's well known that thieving scum get more protection that the home owner in the UK. What part are you refuting? 1) is a distinct likely hood, the dog would no doubt be put down and yes the lowlife thieving scum would hire a blood sucking parasite from WWW chambers to sue the home owner for compo. Maybe a little animated but I'd say the OP is more or less correct.
"If they had been in the house when the burglar broke in or came home to find him in the house they could legally have shot and killed him! So he was lucky! " - if only eddie!

Amendments to the Dangerous Dogs Act mean it is now an offence for a dog to be dangerously out of control in a public place and on private property.

Though intruders into your home would generally not be covered by the amendments, all the circumstances will have to be considered and each decision will be judged individually. For example if you deliberately set your dog onto the intruder and they then suffer injury, you may be liable for prosecution and the dog ordered to be kept under control.

However, if you are not home and your dog attacks, it is unlikely that you would be liable for the attack. This defence only applies in your home and not other premises or land i.e. if a person (intruder of otherwise) enters your garden and is bitten by your dog, you may be liable.
"It's well known that thieving scum get more protection that the home owner in the UK."

More botox.
Agree with Ludwig at 11:39. Good.
What a lovely dog, so glad he's ok and yes I think the burglar would have screamed 'compensation' if this had happened in this country!
