Zacs...That issue was discussed widely here on AB, and you are hardly a rare and occasional poster are you ?

But I will disown the exclamation remark, if it will make you happy.
um the law is the same here
they need a warrant ( clearly this doesnt cover drawing blood at police stations )

also the chain of command thingey isnt fulfilled - you have to be sure that the sample is of the patient or else it may get thrown out of court.

we dont get the back story
would the reaction be the same if there no video ?
phone viddies are discouraged in clinical areas - did they start filming because the situation had already got out of hand ?

she wasnt mirandised - "you need nart say anything but anything you do ....." etc
and finally
what happened to the blood sample ?

if she has drawn it for a SMAC-12 or 24 with consent
is is lawful for a policeman to say - "no hold on that - we're taking it....."

was it a lawful arrest ? and do you unarrest someone by the mayor ringing up and saying - "we terribly sawwy"

blimey

Sorry Mike un derailing your thread by setting aside exclamation marks and getting back to discussing the matter on the video (!)

[ironic exclamation mark intended !! - clenches buttocks, and folds arms under boozum]
No problems PP !

Absolutely appalling, but I don't quite understand what the caption means that

"Salt Lake City's mayor, Jackie Biskupski, said the footage was "unacceptable" and that she has called Miss Wubbels to offer a "personal apology"

Unless this is a misprint, its the heavy-handed Policeman that should be offering an apology

I can't see anything wrong with the above.
Shouldn't it have read....."should have been offered an apology"....it isn't the Nurse who needs to apologise.
// I can't see anything wrong with the above.//

that's because you cant identify an unlawful act when you see one. The one in the blue dress screaming "help me someone!" has been obviously unlawfully arrested.

[please note this post has been specially rewritten so Talbo can understand it]

'she has called Miss Wubbels to offer a "personal apology" '

That's fine Mikey. I don't understand what the problem is.

Anyone seen any updates on this at all?
Tilly.....but why should the Nurse apologise ?
The nurse isn't being asked to apologise.

she has called Miss Wubbels to offer a "personal apology"

Are you seeing the word 'upon' in there or something?
back story more interesting

Nursey is not holding a blood sample ( kinda odd shaped anyway) and saying "no no it is mine!"
she is refusing to draw blood on an unconscious patient at the order of a p'lice man

http://abcnews.go.com/Health/wireStory/utah-officer-put-leave-handcuffing-screaming-nurse-49577197

golly !
wubbels is the one needing the apology ( ethnic 'murican note) and getting it

I dont think the policeman wants an apology - but hey I dont read Talbots posts that closely or at all

'upon' yes very important T
Question Author
The Mayor rang the nurse and (the Mayor) apologised to her (the nurse).

I'm off to walk Tilly. Back to the confusion later. Bye. :-)
Cut out the jive talk if you want posters to read your posts PP
I guess the missing "on" was never meant to be there :-)
In retrospect maybe it could have been worded differently as it caught a number of readers out. Admittedly after a post here implying the erroneous interpretation.
