Who is this guy Lord Harris, to say that Theresa May, is a hopeless leader of a very weak Government, and that we would be better of under a strong labour Government like that of, Tony Blair. Think the Cons should refuse his financial donations in future, that will teach him!!! .

Andy- Hughes 15.26 what is wrong with Jacob Rees Blogg?
I am sure he would make everyone vote Labour even TGT.
Since June, any time I've felt the need to refer to Theresa May, I have invariably called her "Mrs Weak'n'Wobbly", in direct opposition to what she herself promised to be; namely, "strong and stable".
Given that she has shown herself and her government to be about as stable as a milkmaid on a two-legged stool, it's good to see that - at last - there is a dyed-in-the-wool Tory donor who thinks exactly the same as I do!
(He owns Carpetright, by the way, and many of the right-wingers here kept telling us that, as Trump was a businessman, he'd be an ideal president. Perhaps they should draft Lord Harris into No 10!)
TM is THE worst PM the Cons have had for some time. But.....she's still better than Corbyn....by a long way. And there's the rub.
"Perhaps they should draft Lord Harris into No 10!"

Although it's not impossible for a member of the House of Lords to lead the government I think practically it is extremely unlikely now. This means My Lord Harris of Peckham would have to renounce his title which, as a Life Peer, I believe he unable to do.
as I've said before, once DD has sorted brexit he'll take the leadership and wipe the floor with KJJ.
I see the Usual Suspects are decrying this man, even though most of them voted for Mrs May ! ( Not Khandro though ! )

Stop shooting the messenger guys and start listening to the message. Mrs May is indeed a Dead Woman walking.
"Sorted brexit"?
Brexit is just about the least sorted business currently before parliament! The word 'shambles' appears to be one of the commonest descriptors applied to the efforts of Davis and Fox to make anything of it.
Now that you proclaim DD as your next leader-of-choice, TTT, whatever became of your confident earlier predictions that BJ would hold that post?
things have changed QM, it would be silly to be intransigent on shifting sands. I think TM has made a complete horlicks of it and DD is emerging as the natural choice for leader. I still think Bojo has a part to play and if he ended up as leader I'd not be too disappointed but he is no longer my first choice. Brexit is totally sorted, we will be out in June 2019 regardless of what sabotage the remoaners attempt. if no deal the so be it.
TTT..........BREXIT is nowhere near sorted, and that is the current problem.
mikey: we will be out in june 2019 regardless, what part of "well be out in june 2016" is troubling you? Is our exit to be somehow blocked if we don't shove our loaf far enough up the EU's back package? read article 50, we are out pal OUT, end of, there is no mechanism for not being out, you et al are always spouting procedure law yada yada yada, well apply those principles here.
If we leave the EU without agreements for the future, we will have to fall back on World Trade rules, and everybody, even your precious David Davies, thinks that is a very bad idea. Which is why he is running around like a headless chicken, beefing up his Air Miles between here and Brussels.

I now doubt if we will leave on the appointed date, and that we will soon be pleading for a stay of execution.
irrelevant we will be out in june 2019, do you accept that?
On the strength of what is happening now TTT !

I very much doubt it.
ok what is the mechanism to not be out? how is A50 reversed? Do look into your rule book because it's not in the ones I can find. You must have the secret remainiac la la land version.
We will be out, but I suspect the Govt will have negotiated some sort of soft break where things are much the same as they are now legally and trade wise. They will probably use the process of changing EU laws to U.K. Ones as the reason.
I predict that Britain will ask for a stay of execution, as they haven't made any progress whatsoever since June 23rd 2016.
Mikey, A50 doesn't allow for a stay of execution, it states 'It shall be concluded on behalf of the Union by the Council, acting by a qualified majority, after obtaining the consent of the European Parliament' note the word concluded. It then goes on to say 'the withdrawing Member State shall not participate in the discussions of the European Council or Council or in decisions concerning it'.

The exercising of A50 is untried and untested but it doesn't seem to have any in built mechanism to extend the 2 year deadline.
My apologies, it does:
'The Treaties shall cease to apply to the State in question from the date of entry into force of the withdrawal agreement or, failing that, two years after the notification referred to in paragraph 2, unless the European Council, in agreement with the Member State concerned, unanimously decides to extend this period'
