I can't see the point in announcing whether the threat level is now severe or critical. We all know what kind of world we're living in, but are we all meant to hide under our beds until the level is reduced?
We'll have to wait and see, but it would be wrong to have us perpermanently on Critical- there's nowhere to go after. It's also not workable.
Is there a simple step we've missed, YMB. You migght need to remind us
You'd need to remind me of a couple of workable ones that would have a significant effect and not make things worse (which is what most 'solutions' i see on here achieve)
/// but it would be wrong to have us perpermanently on Critical- there's nowhere to go after. ///
There should not be "nowhere to go after" the public's lives are at risk 24/7, and no expense or resources should be spared in this constant fight against terrorism.
/// It's also not workable. ///
It is very workable, even though the measures taken may upset a few.
And therein lies the issue, as you are perfectly aware given this was debated a couple of days ago, it depends on what different people think will make it worse. And no one actually knows that do they?
I feel sorry for all those who bought electric cars in an effort to save the planet. The batteries have now gone flat and they're being towed off the M1 at £200 a time.
Who'd have thought that Islam would affect our lives so much?
