Further to the posts following mine, I think I expressed myself poorly, and am happy to expand the point I was making.

I did not intend to infer that paedophiles only form relationships with children exclusively, and not with adults - clearly that is often not the case, and many abusers are married with families, as advised.

In terms of control, I do understand that control is an element of the gratification for the abuser, although again, I am not suggesting hard and fast rules here to be applied in every case and situation.

In view of the fact that I am aware that some abuse victims do read and contribute to threads like this, I would wish to apologise if my post appeared ignorant of the facts.

Just a small point but isn't a paedophile someone who abuses prepubescent children? At 14 I dont think a girl would ba a prepubescent child.

Having said that I think these people should be dealt with harshly, preferably with a length of cheesewire.
