Why did he HAVE to get onto school ground I wonder?

Was he just dropping off his snowflake or was there some other reason he simply HAD to drive in?

I don't excuse the driver for what he did, but why did the teacher think it was a good idea to sit on the bonnet of the car?
That was what I was going to say, Cloverjo
thought that too, Jo, maybe, just maybe teacher thought he was 'enforcing' his position?

Was wondering if snowflake was needing closer access to the school premises (broken leg/wheelchair access) but for the driver to have been jailed for 10 months, that doesn't seem likely.
I would have done exactly the same as the driver, after warning him that if he didn't move, then i would drive ahead.
Seems to me a "jobsworth " incident.
and your reasons for getting into the staff car park sqad, are ..... ??
With the teacher standing so close the only option for the car was to reverse back onto the road (not a safe manouevre) but by sitting on the bonnet the teacher was making that even more dangerous.
Maybe Rainer only speaks forrin and didn't understand the instructions given. He may also have thought the teacher wanted to play when he sat on the bonnet.

Whatever the reason, he's in the best place now.
to say he 'mowed' him down is not strictly true, the car was at a standstill the teacher was sitting on the car bonnet, in the footage I saw I did not see wheels screaching or smoke coming from the tyres so he obviously did not accelerate so hard!
Stupid thing to do mind made worse by the stupid teacher!

If you watch closely the car moves forward a couple of inches, twice I think, into him when he sits down. Perhaps it was that nudge that made him sit?

Admittedly he should have got up then but the driver had no reason to just barge through with him on the bonnet. Perhaps the teacher stayed there because the driver rammed him and as a deterrent stayed out?

As a 'jobsworth' he was keeping the school grounds and therefore the children safe. There is a reason parents are not allowed to go driving round the school at drop off and pick up times. Safety and this driver was obviously dangerous.

Why do you use the incident as the opportunity to insult the mans child?
The Daily Mail sensational headlines. The teacher wasn't mowed down. How can you mow someone down when the are sitting on the bonnet?

All the parents would know that the staff car park is not to be used. It would be chaos if any car could enter it.
jno I was thinking the same - I hate the word snowflake - its used by adults that enjoy insulting children!
Not a "jobsworth" at all, sqad. The fact that he nearly hit two children as he drove in, makes it obvious that cars are not allowed on the school premises. Period!!

Cats + children in an enclosed parking area = risk.
Thanks Baldric. It seems the sentence also took account of the fact that he was driving tjhis car without insurance and car had no MOT
Would love to know why he couldn't have parked a distance away and walked to school gates to collect the child.

Could somebody explain to the 22 year old driver about Dunblane and security around schools?

If Snowflake is an insult it is an insult to the parent not the child.

Children are by nature I think quite resilient. It is the parents that think they aren't and therefore treat them like snowflakes to protect them from simple life situations.

Just noticed my autocorrect put, "cats." Should have been "cars" Lol.
-- answer removed --
alba....I wasn't privvy to the conversation, so I had NO idea as to why he needed to go into the staff car park.
I just have the feeling that the teacher was giving him the "big I am" and the driver, after warning him........drove on.
Just a guess.
