I have just read that £154,000 has been granted to the police to continue the probe into Madeleine's disappearance. This is on top of the £11m that has been spent in the decade since her disappearance. When is enough enough? I hope and pray that Madeleine is still alive but what are the chances of her being found after 10 years?

You tell me.

I feel so much for parents of other missing children who have not had the same resources spent on searches.
Nil

she's dead

they spent I think £161m on the bloody sunday inquiry and there they knew the 14 were dead. I commented why not give each family £10m and there is still £20m over
and was told sharply that That was NOT the Game......
NOT how it was meant To Be at all
this has been done to death..time to draw a line and move on... no amount of money will bring the wee mite back... time to accept the unpalatable truth such as it is..as many many parents have had to do these last 10 years....
murraymints, should you not say that to the powers that keep on granting extra funds for the continued searches?

I suspect, and always have done, that the Mccains already know the answer.
indeed.. I agree wholeheartedly... enough is enough...
Expand on your suspicions please Baldric.

I have done, a number of times.
I have no idea on the chances and have no speculations either.

Would I want the investigation to continue if she were my child? Yes.

She isn't,therefore I feel unqualified to criticise.
I don't know why the Police continue to investigate her disappearance - the Armchair Detectives solved the case a long time ago... "It was the parents wot dunnit."
Unusually, I find myself somewhat agreeing with Baldric at 21:42.
I first suspected the parents when they were being interviewed and they refused to take a lie detetor test.
detecter
GM - they did NOT refuse to take a lie detector test.

Mrs McCann said she'd happily take the test, as long as the evidence was admissible in Court. Please get your facts right before you posts on here..
They should get no more money at all!
they have blood on their hands!
Oh, please, more McCann bashing? They made a terrible mistake and will regret it for ever.

I don't know how just £154,000 is going to help, unless they have a specific lead. If there's a good chance of finding what happened to Madeleine, that amount of money won't bankrupt the country.
Jo....I agree....£154,000 is neither here nor there.
The police have got blood on their hands, Islay? Please explain.
One report said that there is a woman linked to someone previously questioned whom they need resources to track down. That may be the case- or maybe some earning a good salary just want the gravy train to continue for a bit longer. But we don't know. We must be getting close to the 'enough is enough' stage. I just hope something comes from this extra push.
People are entitled to their opinions in this case but any "theydunnit" speculation is just guesswork. There are some odd aspects to this case- inconsistencies etc- but I'm sure if there was a strong case to charge the parents it would have been picked up by someone by now.
No the parents have blood on their hands
If the parents did it, what would be their motive?
