Who would you like to see on the note, and why?

It doesn’t necessarily have to be feasible, but the rule is, they must be British (obv).

I personally would go for Attenborough, although it’ll never happen.

doesn't it have to be someone dead? (Apart from HM. She got the Canadians to redraw one of their notes because it made her look like Satan, and I wouldn't want Attenborough doing that.)

The Duchess of Cambridge might be a good idea.
As the wife of the future king she needs to be well known and recognised by us serfs to avoid any cap-doffing incidents.

Honestly, I think our mass media, especially the print sector need to get the finger out and have more photos and articles on this little known woman.

Chaplin, Laurel, Cary Grant, Bob Hope, Alfred Hitchcock etc, but the point with all of those was they didn't become famous until they went to Hollywood (Hitchcock a slight exception), so as far as Britain's concerned they were just unrecognised talents.

Chaplin is one of my heroes. I think he would be an excellent choice, but I doubt it will happen.

Attenborough is a good one, but (monarch aside), I think it feels just a bit weird to put someone on the note who is still living. I can't put my finger on why, exactly, but it just feels wrong. So I would also prefer Turner to him purely for that reason.
