Why are women's nipples such a big deal?

Any child growing up right now could easily believe that the shape of women's nipples is black and square (if they've ever looked at a newspaper online).

Why are they so 'offensive', but mens' aren't?

Papers will pixellate a woman's nipple, but leave the rest of the boob unadulterated.

The female nipple is more erotic than the male visually so is covered. A bare breast is only half a stimulus.

I thought it was amusing when a Picasso painting was sold for silly millions and an American news tv channel reporting on it pixelated the breasts of the subject.

You certainly didn't miss the campaigns by women's groups to cover up nipples, which is what I actually said, because you joined in several of the threads about the subject right here on AB.
Now, it seems to be the fault of men that nipples are being covered up
It's yet another example of the liblab luvvies chasing themselves up their own pixelated places. An ever more regular phenomenon nowadays, I'm happy to report. ;-)

So I decided to check on Google to see what campaigns you referred to.

That depends upon whether you are male or female and if the latter, if they are large, small, sensitive, inverted, everted.
Very important to the male and to some women, extremely important.
Should they be shown........yes.
Does showing them on TV...overt...reduce the outcome of breast cancers?........I doubt it very much.
