Police To Stop Investigating Burglaries
I know burglary has been considered a low-level crime for some time now, but having been a burglary victim I can assure you it feels like anything but, so my question is do the police have their priorities in order?
I'm sure the recent £1.5m cost to come to the conclusion that Ted Heath would have been questioned will have Heath quaking in his boots.....oh, hang on, it won't, and that as Weinstein allegedly sexually assaulted some actresses on UK soil no doubt a vast amount of money will be spent investigating this even though there is zero chance of him facing trial in the UK.

I accept it's difficult to capture a burglar, but does it being difficult mean they shouldn't at least try?

Its not just burglary's that the Police can't cope with any more. Bring the Police up to strength again, and see what happens.

Danny...if the Police Chiefs are now saying that they can't cope, then its time to sit up and notice.
I am not sure how long ago it is that you are referring to, but there are many more crimes available to be committed these days.
For instance, I wonder how many times any Police Force, anywhere had to investigate the theft of Mobile phones 25 years ago ? Or cyber crime ?

I was burgled twice in my old flat. It was about 25 years ago. The police turned up a few hours later, but I didn't expect an investigation beyond asking the neighbours whether they'd seen anything.
I didn't expect anything more to be honest, because unless there are witnesses who could've provided a description of the culprits I couldn't see what the police could've done.
House to house enquires?
Taken DNA swabs from the window sills?
Ordered the CCTV from every local business and have a taskforce devote hours looking through them?
Phone Miss Marple?
