The Labour Party is distributing a video as part of its campaign to give 16-year-olds across the UK the right to vote and says “You’re 16. Now you can get married, join the army, work full time”…. but you can only join the Army aged 16 or 17 with your parents' permission. At that age you also need your parents' permission to get married unless you do so in Scotland. Since 2013, 16- and 17-year-olds cannot work full-time in England, but can in the other three home nations with some restrictions.

Nice idea for them to attempt to generate more votes from the naïve, but a reality check for them – and for those who cling to their every word - here.

And he's one of the few lefty's not hidebound by ideology, doesn't take all his opinions from the msm.

Well, yes, I'm only really allowed two choices. So the fact that something I like (among other things) has a higher chance of happening with one side than the other is a fairly obvious reason to vote for them.

Now you probably disagree about the desirability of some of those ideas. But the point I'm trying to make is that it shouldn't be "beyond your comprehension" why people consider voting Labour, because it's extremely simple. They're only allowed two choices, and one of those has a higher chance of introducing things they want done. Sticking your fingers in your ears will not make that go away.

IF the lunacy of allowing 16 year olds the vote ever happened, what inducements would Labour offer them to vote their way.?

At the last election Labour galvanized/induced/conned the younger vote with their lies about tuition fees, and it worked, so I wonder what will be impossibly promised to those even younger.

Well, the only other options are either the government or to waste your vote. Unless you happen to live in a swing seat with an exceptionally good third party MP, that's the simple reality of the UK system at the moment.

Surely it is not beyond your comprehension (even if you disagree) why those options might not appeal to a lot of people.
