Miss Jones said: ‘Time and time again we’ve said “enough is enough” as knife crime has doubled in a year. Well over 1,000 young people were stabbed in London last year.//
Another young life wasted and the perpetrators will probably never be caught, other than increasing stop and search what can be done to stop this increase in knife crime.
And before anyone blames May and cuts in the police you would a copper on every corner to stop, stabbings, acid attacks, scooter thieves and terrorists.

IMO prison and any incarceration should be a one time deterrent. I can never grasp it that prisoners are allowed to phone outside of the prison. Wth? I feel that if the sentences were to be as per crime then maybe that would help. Why should they receive a reduction in sentence if 'they behave'? A sentence is a sentence in my book and I would go so far as to say, if it doesn't deter the first time, then any further crimes would have double sentencing. We have to make it unpalatable to criminals that being 'banged up' is a doddle and repeat offenders need to be shown correction and how to behave. Sorry but surely that is what punishment means...?
