"Primary schoolchildren should be free to dress up in a tiara or superhero cloak without comment from teachers or pupils, the Church of England has said." - right oh so no bullying will take place because the Church has decreed it! Unbelievably naive! So cue every attention seeking parent sending their boy in dressed as the sugar plum fairy! what could go wrong?

Teach them what you want to say, such as death to all blond people, or (our) God is best, or only right handed people are intelligent, whatever your 'propaganda' of the day is and eventually the old dinosaurs that don't agree die off.
The problem is of course that eventually new propaganda comes along so it starts all over again. Or it just never stops. It is an inevitable treadmill of vanity projects by the people indoctrinated by the previously indoctrinated.

No I don't think they are out of touch. I think its a very sensible comment. I also think that saying that it is not allowable to use the Christian faith or bible teachings to justify behaviour that amounts to bullying is also both kind and sensible. The only pity is that either statement should be considered necessary.
If this is for dressing up play I see no problem with it at all. Hopefully the children wear some form of uniform otherwise.
Speaking of school uniform, it would be easier if all children wore trousers, a polo shirt or sweatshirt depending on season and a fleece. Shorts and tshirt for PE. Practical and they all dress the same. Long hair to be in a pony tail, whether boy or girl.

Lol they haven't waited long enough.
If you look back to even the 50s and 60s the attitude to LBGT community has changed immeasurably. For the most part it is the younger people that are more accepting and the older people just keep quiet knowing their views are 'outdated'.
Although I suspect in the case of religion in Russia it could possibly be because soviet style socialism or whatever it is is rather depressing for the general populace and religion is the thing that keeps them going.
Teaching tolerance is no bad thing. At the ripe old age of 54 I think people should be able to be what they want as long as it doesn't interfere with anyone else. The trouble with that is that sometimes is does because there will inevitably be a clash of 'rights' at some point.
