Eddie, //Once Labour are in power they will become the main source of jokes. Will you still be commenting then? //
Unless a similar exercise is carried out, I doubt it. I last watched the programme some considerable time ago when one of the guests was humiliated relentlessly - and I didn't laugh once. I now leave the show to those who find that sort of thing humorous.
they used to take the urine out of Hattersley quite a bit, back in the days when Labour were in power, hence my earlier post. They eventually repaced him with a tub of lard when he failed to turn up for a broadcast.
Of course it's unsurprising. The two captain's appear to be politically left of centre. Furthermore it's the Tories who are in power so they are the main target for urine extraction.
Satirical programmes will naturally snap at those in power.
The vast majority of comedians lean to the left politically, which will be reflected in their routines and the jokes they make on telly. The same is true on Mock The Week and Eight out of Ten Cats.
It should never be editorial policy to evenly distribute jokes across the political spectrum.
I quite often read on these pages that the majority (sometimes vast majority) of comedians are lefties. Is this really true and is there any proof of this in the form of a survey or some such?
