Link from my local paper.
The council are now going to fine homeless people who try to keep warm in a tent this winter. Fining homeless people up to £1000 is not only unworkable (where would they send the fine to?) its despicable.

Come to think of it, and to an extent bringing the issue back again; it's like tackling lack of housing caused by overpopulation by urban sprawl, rather than tackling the population issue. But in that case it's a movement in time rather than location.
Well done Baldric and well said Nails at 18.09.
" One can buy a house in Stoke for only one pound." One could if one were in paid employment, a first-time buyer and able to demonstrate one had both good credit and savings for renovation.

They will have a new scheme from January and folk can make applications now. I had a look at the eligibility criteria checklist and it looked a wee bit confusing. Some of the questions have "(required)" after them which suggests you have to be able to answer "yes" but that's not always the case. One question that isn't "required" is a question asking about the right to reside in the UK but you need to answer "yes" to progress further.

I have always felt sorry for the homeless, especially kids and always give to homeless charities. Fining them £1,000 is ludicrous.

Baldric - I think that's great.
