Clearly they believe he is the driver.

Unfortunately "joy" riding is far too common. This person should be jailed for life to set an example. But he wont. Probably 12 months suspended or similar let out early "because of his age" no doubt.

YMB.......perhaps New Judge will be along later later to give us the legal picture here, but I can't see this boy getting any suspended sentence, of any duration.

Oh please, he'll be sent to a young offender gaff, locked up for a while then quietly released having learned the error of his ways and will go on to lead a full and productive life.
Or so we'll be told if it ever comes up.

What the heck are 2, 24 year olds, one a father, doing in a stolen car that a 15 year old is being allowed to drive ? This story is bizarre beyond belief. The full story would be interesting.

Sad though it is that children died there's a part of me that looks at it from the point of view that it's 5 or so(known to Police)car thieves/burglars/miscreants destined for a life of crime that are no longer around.
Still, not nice for the family left behind to deal with the aftermath.

I hope he doesn't get to shoulder all the blame...there were 2 adults in that car. There must surely be some blame attached to them for allowing him to drive. Perhaps they even encouraged him.

still quite bamboozled how 7 can get into such a wee car... tragic all round..to be responsible for 5 lives must surely result in a heavy penalty... the circs do need some explanation, will all come out eventually

The driver of the car survived whilst his passengers perished. No leniency should be shown.
