Presumably Greene’s computer was returned to him, so the only physical ‘evidence’ now in existance is the police officer’s notebook. So it is his word against the police. If Greene denies it, and the evidence has been destroyed, then no case can be proved against him. The story is already embarrassing, a confession would make things worse (for Greene) than they already are.

On Wednesday he had to - er - stand up in the Commons and face Emily Thornberry. I bet he is hoping he won't have to do that again.
I agree that he's not really done anything "wrong" as such, but can he survive in the fact of the sort of merciless satire he is bound to face form the likes of sketch writers etc?

// I can't help wondering why the retired police officer has waited so long to mention this, He retired 3 years ago. //
The porn was alluded to in a select committe answer in 2009. And then again during evidence to the Leverson Inquiry. In November a female Conservative activist accused Greene of inapprpriate behaviour, and the historic porn allegation was rehashed by the press. Greene dismissed that by attacking the Police and saying the officer (Bob Quick) was ‘unreliable’ and that the testimony was ‘tainted’. That is what prompted the computer forensic officer to come forward, because Greene had called his just trashed his work on tv and newspapers.

Not the point Mikey. The scuffers have no legal right to make such revelations nigh on 10 years after the event in what can only be called a vindictive spiteful attack. Does he take that computer home I wonder, or leave it there giving someone else access? Did the copper himself download it then fortuitously "find" it? Funny how he kept his note book for that event alone after "retiring", and taking into account the previous between the two of them highly suspicious. Seems plod is now investigating the copper and considering confidentiality issues. Good. Hope Green sues the git.
As far as I'm concerned the majority of the MPs would be better off viewing porn 24-7 and keeping well away from anything important. Meddling lot of buffoons.

//Ex-Tory leader Iain Duncan Smith said: ‘This is all payback by embittered former police officers.
‘They overstepped the mark in 2008 under pressure from the Blair government. The police have got serious questions to answer. This is all political – it’s about getting even with us and getting even with him.’
Conservative MP Jacob Rees-Mogg said the raid on Mr Green’s office was a ‘scandal’
He added: ‘The police behaved disgracefully as a political arm of the then government: they raided an opposition minister’s offices; they raided the House of Commons; this was a real scandal.//
//‘The danger is that at least 30 people worked on that inquiry,’ one officer said. ‘What happens if they all start coming forward now with tidbits of what went on?’
Friends of Mr Green accused the police of launching a vendetta against him as payback for the botched raid – part of an investigation led by Mr Quick into Home Office leaks.
An external police review of the investigation later ruled it was disproportionate – while the leaks were embarrassing to the then Labour government, they were not a threat to national security.//
The copper making the revelations is Neil Lewis ret. Quick's former lapdog. Leftie left overs stinking the commons out again. An investigation into Labour cabinet leaks turns into hunting with hounds of............Tory MPs. Meehh
