- Yes, many times.
Have you always sided with the opposition on every little detail? //
- Nope, not me.
// Have you always spun our wins as losses and our losses as catastrophies? //
- Not guilty.
The truth is, the Leavers, despite campaigning for four decades to exit the EU, did not have a clue how this process would happen, and how much it would cost. Now we know. Many leavers are delusional, saying we can walk away without honouring our debts, and we can build a beautiful big border wall to keep the EU out. As is now apparent, we cannot do either of those things.
I would not say today is a catastrophe. A negotiation is a negotiation - neither side gets everything it wants. Saying that, £50billion is a lot more than I, even at my most pessimistic, thought we would paying.

Exactly. And this is compounded, I believe, by the change to the referendum question from YES/NO to REMAIN/LEAVE. Rather than asking for acceptance or rejection it forced people to use an action verb one way or the other. I am not saying they should not have done that, but a lot of people must seriously have thought it was the same as walking out the door. Possibly even the next day.

Gromit, the brexiters are unhappy because of the way it's been handled, we could just leave full stop and we have been kyboshed by the vichy british adding unnecessary complexity so they can feed their desire to be verified as what they think is "correct". Then those some people take the rise out of the deal and label it as a failure when it is them that caused it. We should have issue A50 in June 24th 2016 and not agreed to any of their BS.
"We should have issue [sic] A50 in June 24th 2016 ..."
Except, as the Supreme Court ruled, this was unconstitutional.
"we could just leave full stop"
Except that this would amount to sticking two fingers up to the people we would then want to sort out a new deal with anyway in order to, you know, trade stuff (as well as the rest of the world who would see the UK as unreliable partners in any treaty if they just abandon the ones they signed before).
It should be obvious even from your armchair that Brexit was never going to be simply a matter of days in the sorting and no-one would notice the difference. Pointing that out, acknowledging it, and working around the inevitable problems, is neither unpatriotic nor a "Vichy" mentality.

Tora,
Sorry, I thought Theresa May was in charge, and David Davis headed the Department for Exiting the EU. I had under estimated my own involvement. I thought my witterings on AB mainly fell on deaf ears, it is gratifying to know that I influenced the result.
The Government is solely responsible for the success or failure of our exiting. Nowt to go with me.
