I don’t think he is a police officer, he is usually referred to as a former Scotland Yard Officer (I think he retired). It is unclear whether he retained the notebook or whether he made a photocopy before handing it in. A photocopy of the relavent page was produced as evidence, not the actual notebook. He should not have retained the information, but as he is not serving he is guilty of a past code of conduct breach. A slap on the wrist is all that will comeback to him.

That was unintentionally funny. She showed no gut at all. She was forced into the move by the report which confirmed he had misled everyone with false statement. If she had guts, she would have fired him weeks ago. He is a close ally and she didn’t want him to go, so she acted out of weakness, not strength.

If Green did indeed lie, it was over something very trivial. As Gromit says, the important feature here is not Green's behaviour - it is his position in the Tory party as a strong ally of May. That is why he has been targeted, that is why this information has suddenly come up now.

The porn on the Computer was known about for years and a select committee investigation had seen it. It was produced as evidence to the Leverson Inquiry. Saying that May failed dismally in carrying out her pledge does not mean I agreed with the pledge.

It was a vote winner but an obvious lie, as she had no power to cut EU immigration, so it was bound to fail. I mention it merely to remind people that May’s tenure as Home Secretary was not that good. In fact it was lousy.

I don’t think there has been any senior female Labour Party MPs who have overlooked for leader. Just haven’t been any that are/were better than the men.
I predict Angela Rayner as possible future leader, but she is very young at the moment.
