The Council can’t manage the housing stock which is why it was privatised. But the private company failed miserably and the tenants have lost confidence in it. So the council are paying them to do nothing while it gets its act together. An utter shambles. Imagine the stink if this was a Labour Borough instead of a flagship Conservative one.

// It’s temporary, Mikey. And it was decided last September.//
erm I am not sure - they gave up Grenfell Towers - if giving up means being "deprived of"
and they have given up another 6 000 properties
which kinda doesnt sound like temporary
it sounz like giving up your trading object
so you dont trade
and can dissolve as kinda - not needed.
and so you can't be criminally prosecuted
corporate manslaughter might be on the cards as the tenants werent short in telling everyone how awful the management co was

// Are you seriously saying us Tories condone this Councils actions and waste of money?//
yeah I do actually - the unlucky tenants told everyone in stereo technicolor that the towers were dangerous and being rendered more dangerous as a result of proposed
and that to my mind means that the council operatives who failed to act condoned the proposals.
I think also that the west ken council tried to hold a closed meeting a few days later in order to discuss minimising their liability - and no one has said diddly squat about that - and failure to condemn here I think is 'condoning'

It is indeed a strange world. Many are rightly agreeing that the occupants of these dwellings should have a greater say and involvement in the way their homes are maintained and managed. Some of them though hate the fact that many such people were given the chance, and pride in doing so, that comes with managing and maintaining their own homes to their personal preferences. Step forward Mrs Thatcher, and take a bow. :))
