In the case of Bannon I think he has finally got to the 'smoking gun' evidence that will impeach Trump for 'obstruction of justice' , one of the few offence for which a US president can be impeached. Trump's reaction has been to say that Bannon has 'lost his mind' (or become insane.) Exactly the reaction I would expect from Trump under the circumstances.

Brannon know something or he would not have been able to have given the verdict of ‘treasonous’. And I suspect one of his roles while in the Whitehouse was to firefight the allegation (of collusion with a foreign power). Now he is out of that role, if the administration gets burnt, he is determined to distance himself from it.

Blair allegedly only said that the UK might have spied on him: at best that is the idle speculation of an ex-PM who a lot of people are busily dismissing as irrelevant and out of touch on a separate thread. It is only really relevant in the grand scheme of things in the extent to which the author’s book generally can be trusted on anything if it really isn’t true.
Then again, what is the big ‘revelation’ everyone in the US is getting excited about? Bannon calls Trump unpatriotic and treasonous for meeting with a Russian and failing to be outraged when this woman led him in with false promises about helping him win the election. What Bannon claims to have thought at the time is interesting but surely not the point.
As a matter of fact I’d be keen to know what the follow-up to this contact might have been: ‘we don’t have any dirt on Clinton - but we sure as hell have dirt on YOU bozo’
It is not impossible.
Tho they probably would not have used the word ‘bozo’
