mikey - // Andy....I wish I had as much faith in the process than you obviously do.//

I have faith in the process only because I have to - I have as many misgivings as the next person, believe me!

But the decision is made by people who know far more about the circumstances than we do, as I have said.

Time will tell, as I have also said.
// Peter....this case has no connection or relevance to the Shipman affair.//

yes it does - can we think of TWO people who were convicted of various things and THEN were credited with many many more

why ! yes we can - the instant case and Shipman

and so you see mikey they have something in common.
which is being blamed for many more crimes than they were convicted for - and for political reasons ( people wanted to initiate change)

Brain back on Mikey !
// It looks as if the original investigation and trial of John Worboys left a great deal to be desired //

Wow, that truly is shocking.
Shocking indeed Gromit !
Question Author
think what these women are going through, for one not knowing that he was being released, except through the media. I cannot understand our justice system at all.
Question Author
even the Parole Chief is concerned the women weren't told of his release

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-42574651
The Parole Chief should be more worried about why he was released.
Question Author
presumably he convinced them he was good enough to be released, personally he could rot in jail.
Is every victim of someone who is jailed notified of their potential release?
Question Author
Islay in this particular case it appears not. Perhaps in others it does.
emmie that doesn't answer my question - you seem surprised that his victims were not notified - my question is are other victims of other crimes notified of potential release dates - or do you think this one should have been treated differently?
Islay, check the link at 10.09
Question Author
i personally think all victims should be told of their perpetrators release, i don't think Worboys should be the exception.
So it looks like - and I haven't read it all, if the criminal is under 18 when the crime was committed the victims will be told otherwise no and in order to be involved with the parole procedure they have to register.
Emmie - are you happy for your taxes to be increased to employ extra people to carry that job out?
expect he will re-offend and be back in shortly !
Question Author
to carry what out, to tell the victims, surely that should be part of the process of the assailants release.
Why would it increase taxes?
and I agree ALL victims should be notified of his release..especially if he is going to be in the locale !
Islay, what you want to know is included in Part2
