Of course there is a terrorist threat in the UK, we are currently on a severe alert.

Trump is not saying we are a sh!thole.

Non story.
Must admit ... I'm clueless.

Can you give me a little more?

Meanwhile, the UK Government advises:

Terrorism
Terrorists are very likely to try to carry out attacks in the USA. Attacks could be indiscriminate, including in places visited by foreigners. You should monitor media reports and be vigilant at all times.

That's on a par with the threat level the USA has classed the UK as.
//Trump is not saying we are a sh!thole.\\

True, but some parts of the country are heading that way.
If it's made you feel better AOG, there's no more to be said.

Not in the least, I just thought it would cheer some of you up, knowing how you don't like the foreigners being picked on all of the time.

Where does this report state that?

Well, that's cleared thing up.
It's a rum do right enough.
You have to laugh - safe in America, i think not.

" Under a new system, the US now divides countries into four levels of danger for its citizens.

Level 1 is deemed as safe as staying in America, while Level 4 means ‘do not travel’.

The UK is classed at Level 2, the same as the Congo, Zimbabwe and Algeria.

A full list, in case anyone is curious as to the other countries listed as level two:

AOG, it doesn't say that in the report you linked to. I have quoted from the UK Government's Foreign Travel Advice as a comparison of what the UK advises about the US.

https://www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice/usa/terrorism

thousands of deaths by gunfire, hundreds of thousands injured by gun, knife crimes, level 1 my eye..

When one copies and pastes an excerpt, it is always best to provide a link from whence it came, as you have now later provided us with.
I would rate the USA as a lot more dangerous than the UK ,but I don't suppose the US State department is likely to rate its own country as less safe than being abroad. For example in 2016 the entire UK police force firedjust 7 shots! Yes just 7 bullets for the entire UK police force.
In the USA figures are not available as there are no records are even kept of how many times police open fire. But around 1,000 people a year are shot dead by police every year in the USA.
That’s actually the stats up to March 17 Eddie but I take your point.
the other day gromit posted the fact that over 15 thousand people were killed in USA by gunfire, and hundreds of thousands are wounded every year, its not a safe place to live.
I notice the headline is "No Wonder Trump Ditched His Trip"................

Perhaps this response is due the threats that were made towards him only recently. More to come methinks. Next a "warning" to American businesses not to trade with Britain as we are untrustworthy.
