well SOmeone was finding a link between Hannah Hawkswell - deceased dalsewoman and Quentin Crisp - nude model and gay activist
this is what inspired me to find an outrageous and ridiculous paralllet Andie
Now I WONDER who that was - - any ideas Andie ?
( you have stated that I didnt make sense and then refured my aergument which I suggest means the argument um made sense to you in some way - never mind a bit of a tcchnical point )

The small difference is - my parallel is valid, yours is not.
And for the record, Mr Crisp was never a 'gay activist' - but since you are on a roll getting things wrong this morning, we can let that one go.

Once again, I have absolutely no idea what you are talking about.
Trying to debate with you is like plaiting fog - so I will leave it to others who may have more success.

This is a tough one.
Do you extend an amnesty to people on the basis that they were involved in this tragedy - or do you enforce the law as it stands.
I am on record as believing that the law should and must act without emotion, and that it should be applied fairly to all, in order to be fit for purpose.
I do think that the investigations should be completed before anyone who has important input and information is rendered unable to give that information because they have been deported.
After that, it is time to look at the situation again.

An interesting point and one that could be deemed valid, but really do we wish to gain information from criminals ie illegals, could we accept is as being impartial?

That does indeed add to the dilemma.
Another way of looking at that aspect is - does being an illegal immigrant mean that evidence offered is not impartial, simply because of residency status?
I am sure you join with me in being pleased not to be involved in this dreadful situation.

douglas - // A great thinker once said 'a dog born in a stable is not a horse'.
It wasn't actually a 'great thinker' - it was attributed to the Duke Of Wellington who is reputed to have said "Just because you were born in a stable does not make you a horse ... " although the veracity of his statement has been questioned since.
But whether he said it or not, is not the point here.
There are thirty-one countries in the world that automatically confer citizenship on individuals born in their countries - along with the rest of Europe, the UK is not one of them.
