Jon Venables Jailed For Possessing Over 1,000 Abuse Images

The mother of murdered toddler James Bulger has accused the authorities of "colluding" to cover up his killer's behaviour and has branded his 40 months sentence ‘a farce’. There are also calls for his anonymity to be lifted before he strikes again. This is the second time since his initial release he’s been jailed for possessing such images, described by the judge as "vile" and "heartbreaking", so the question is are we too lenient on people like him and does there come a time when we should decide to throw away the key?

sqad, both Mr and Mrs Bulger were in court. I don't see that any blame attaches to either of them.

I'm sure there are far worse upbringing where the children don't end up torturing toddlers.

However, he is back in prison correctly for this current crime.

Incidentally, I knew a woman who taught the Bulger kids and they were not afforded and easy childhood upbringing.
So, now you have excluded parental involvement then perhaps we should look at society.

Venables seems to have a 'kink' in his brain which has been exacerbated by his upbringing and incarceration at a young age.

He was the 'leader' and Thompson, it seems, was the reluctant follower......although nowhere near reluctant enough.

For our safety, and his own (although, granted, that may be less of a consideration) he needs to be permanently separated from society.
