the guy needs to spend the rest of his miserable life behind bars.
I'm not entirely sure that humour, however light, is appropriate on a topic like this.

This man is an evil predatory monster who has treated boys and young men in his care in the most appalling and disgusting manner. Sadly, his "god like" status undoubtedly protected him for all those years. I am pleased that victims now feel able to speak out against those who committed these crimes against them many years ago and saddened at how many there are.
There's nothing PC (a term bandied around too often) about wanting to keep perverts away from our children.

If you want depressing, try the Jokes topic.

There are some on here who don't know the meaning of the word 'humour' in fact I don't think that they have smiled or laughed in their miserable lives.
There is a right time and place for humour. A thread about child sex abuse is not it.
You're reading the wrong threads AOG - there are some on here with keen senses of humour - they don't employ them on a topic like this.

In fact it wasn't even humour, more of a suggestion of the pain that can be metered out by a well aimed ball in the right direction, most appropriate in this case.

Why don't you execute an honourable tactical withdrawal from the thread, AOG?

That way the thread can continue with the necessary amount of gravitas for such a chilling subject and you can nurse your wounded pride elsewhere.

I pointed out the MJ's Neverland private theme park was just 'bait' to attract kids so that he could abuse them. I also said that Jackson was only saved from jail because he was rich enough to pay the parents of one child he abused (Jody Chandler?) $40 million to refuse to give evidence. Even the Judge commented that is was ONLY their refusal to give evidence that had forced him to order the case closed. The judge even hinted that otherwise the evidence was so strong a conviction would have been virtually certain.

Why don't you just butt out you constantly try to have a go at me on each and every thread I join in on.

Other ABers would be chastised, but for some reason you seem to be a protected species.

i dread to think how much money will be wasted keeping him safe from other prisoners ...

Have you knocked off from your self appointed administrator of this thread, because I see another naughty ABer has dared to bring M J into the debate, how dare he!!!!!
They might have been kids but he got away with what he did right under the noses of older footballers, team managers, parents etc. and not all that long ago in the 80s.Did they all go round with their eyes, ears and mouths shut?

Some of the post on this thread are amazing, to say the least. Like others, I can't see any need for humour in this affair whatsoever

AOG....you need to get real and show some understanding and compassion. Some of those boys were 8 or 9 years old.

Ummm has it right here....the boys were "groomed" over a period of time. Bennell was clever and crafty and that is how he got away with for so many years....he became an expert at grooming children.

To answer your question to me at 10:27. Nothing like this ever happened to me, but when I was 8 years old, I was very shy, so I am unsure what I would have done. An element of shame may have come into it, as the boys might have thought that they may have "encouraged" Bennell in some way. Not all boys would have reacted the same way.

But I will repeat what I posted earlier....some boys DID complain, but Bennell was untouchable at the time. Bennell was a respected football coach, and it is said that he was treated like a God at Manchester City. All the football clubs that he worked for should be looking over their shoulders very nervously today.

Treated like a God...does that remind you of anyone...Jimmy Savile, or Cyril Smith for instance? They were both treated like Gods and proved to be untouchable as well.

The boys effected were not responsible in any way for what happened to them....not even a teeny-weeny bit.

It is complete shame that stops youngsters speaking out. They know it's wrong but they lack the confidence to stand up for themselves. That's what groomers do.

AOG...shame on you.!
