The biggest surprise is discovering that she's married to be-knighted High Court Judge.
Perhaps she just doesn't like being called Nugee because it's such a stupid name.

btw, I'd prefer to be addressed as 'your excellency' if that's ok with everyone.
Khandro - // The biggest surprise is discovering that she's married to be-knighted High Court Judge. //

Why is that a surprise?
I think the name we should all call Johnson is "Piffling dePfeffel", the latter word being part of his name.

/// AOG - try to keep the personal slights to a minimum, eh? ///

I am it is only one ABer.
AB answer: foo dat ! what ding dat dingen den?

Proper Answer - H of C piddling around which does them no good. Way back when Jennie Lee who was Mrs Jennie Bevan widow of Aneurin Bevan - therefore NOT Mrs Aneurin Bevan yeah geddit? - would insist 1964 that she was Jennie Lee ( " I never talk about my husband!") - and Jennie Lee she was !

Lord Benn then Anthony Wsdgwood Benn took adverts out when he adopted the very suitable plebeian "Tony Benn"
Dat Hilary Benn's father. And Tony Benn he was - he used to get very huffy to be addressed as Mr Wedgwood Benn

Lord Lambton - Lucinda Lambton's father ( who he den? who she den too den ?) - got parliaments knickers in a real knot when he insisted that he was referred in the Commons as Lord Lambton. Was it because his christian name was 'Lord' shortened to Lordie ? - no because it was because the son of a peer could be elected and sit in the commons during his father's life and was referred to as the courtesy title - Lord Hingchingbrooke in the early sixties springs to mind - as well as Lord palmerston 1860 and indeed Lord Castlereagh prime minister 1822 who was the son and heir of Lord Londonderry.
He wasnt. ( what dat answer to den?) - Lord 'Lordie' Lambton wasnt a son of a peer in this sense.
Blood and spittle all over the chambers walls.
Took a year or two to get a definitive ruling

and really the Commons ( Brexit, Salisbury, Cricket, Russia ) should be spending time on better things

Lord Lambton was also the member ( hur hur hur) who was outed for using prostitutes.

Oh Lardy Lardy! what happened then ( den I mean) ?
He had to pay the outstanding bill or something.
Too long ago for an accurate recall

/// Did you see the undisguised glee as he searched for her title amongst his cronies ///

Double standards here I am afraid, all this talk about politeness and rudeness, yet to some it is perfectly okay to refer to Boris's associates, as "CRONIES"
Nothing double about it, it's how it appeared to me.
Yep, Lord Lambton, former MP for Berwick, as well as Lord Jellicoe. This was back in 1973. I was a student at the time and when Lambton resigned his seat I put £10 on the Tories holding it at 4/6. I lost.
Do remember it. Super picture of Lambton in bed with two girls - one black, one white as I recall - splashed all over the front pages. Lord Jellicoe outed at same time for using "escort" services. A VE inamorata of the time found the photo quite sexy, so I asked her if she had a black girlfriend. Disappointingly she hadn't.

You are completely wrong once again.
What I took exception at was the fact that some started to call me "OLDGIT" or even "Git".
There is still one ABer that calls me "ANOTHEROLDGIT" choosing to use capital letters for some strange reason.

If some choose to use their actual first name and surname, they should be prepared to be called by either.

AOG - // If some choose to use their actual first name and surname, they should be prepared to be called by either. //

Unless they express a specific preference not to be addressed by their surname.

Adhering to that preference is simply courtesy.
-- answer removed --
Spath there's no 'r' in Anotheoldgit.

I chose a long unwieldy name so I don't mind abbreviations as long as they aren't too rude.
Still, Git is part of your name, so I don't see why you should get so upset about people using it :P

-- answer removed --
A quondam regular poster, now inactive, used to refer to him regularly as 'His Gitship'.
spath - The unusual spelling is because 'Anotheroldgit' has one too many letters for the system to take it, so AOG took the 'R' out.
