Does anyone know if they are showing any of Bill Maynard's old shows? Been through tonight's listings but cannot see anything.
He was very good especially in the 50s highest paid actor then. I don't see how anyone can call him a minor celebrity - I suppose it is an age thing as I think all "celebrities" now are minor!

I think he was one of the highest paid entertainers in the 1950s - he certainly wasn't the highest paid actor.

he had a bad relationship with nick berry on heartbeat. when i lived in australia nick was interviewed on one of the daytime shows, he was monosyllabic and boring. bill stated that he didn't need nick to be a star.

Did you know that Bill was a 'Sex Symbol' in the fifties. He had lots of affairs.

Gill I agree, I always found his cheeky smile very endearing - saw him in a stage play and he certainly was not playing the same sort of character we remember him for.
