But that's not all:
£14.3million is spent to help fund the fishing industry in Nigeria.
Malawi received £360,000 for fish farming schemes while £611,000 was given to the international charity WorldFish, which works to improve fisheries and aquaculture to reduce hunger and poverty.
A further £263,000 was given to Nepal to develop fish farming and £616,000 to Zimbabwe to fund schemes for fish farmers.
In all, Britain sends £13.4billion of aid overseas each year, are you happy with this?

"China is building airports by the dozen; they are having new cities that are much more environmentally friendly than anything we do here, they are doing fantastic public realm schemes so that places are beautiful; they have got rapid transit things.
Why can't they work out how to have babies safely? Why are we having to pay for things like that"?
We provided nearly £1 in every £8 of the money doled out by the G7 last year as the UK aid budget soared to £13.9billion.
None of the other G7 nations – Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, and America – met the international target of 0.7 per cent of national income on foreign aid.
Just soft touch Britain. We must be mad. In debt up to our eyes , NHS crumbling faster than the roads, no viable power generation plants and care homes not able to cope, yet alone meet basic standards.

China investing in the British economy? Don't make me laugh. Gaining access to out technical knowhow and stealing research results and the pilfering of intellectual property more like. Believe me it is not out of any altruistic intention on China's part.

Of course I'm not happy with this. China is one of the cruellest nations in the world and why the hell should we help them. I've said it before, when we have terrible problems in our own country with homeless kids on the streets, care homes closing down all the time and the NHS in crisis, then NO we should not be giving money in so called aid abroad.
Asquith ALWAYS likes to have a pop at the Royals, quite pathetic really.

We do not provide aid to China.
In the example provided by Sam Gyimah, we aren’t simply funding the roll out of maternity care device. What we are doing in partnership with private firms, is providing expertise and the groundwork needed to establish new medical facilitiers and training to middle income countries.
It may look like we’re giving money away, but we aren’t. We are investing. We need to ensure that we have influence in these emerging economies. We need to get our foot in the door and we need to ensure that our companies (in this case, pharmaceutical) are at the front of the cue when these economies strike trade deals).
If we shut down overseas development, someone will jump in. We will save ourselves a few million now, but it may well cost us more down the line.
