Bazile - you are quite right, but the doctor told my sister, who was in a state and did not pass the information on to me until a month ago, when it came out in the course of conversation. I suppose the doc. was trying to save us upset because he had previously been treating mum for a heart condition (unknown to any of us) and she had 2 red pills to take per day. My dad hadn't given them to her, he probably didn't know what they were for, or thought the antibiotics were more important. Something I'm still juggling with a bit.
Is there no way to turn off autocorrect or predictive text? I have neither.
Looks like the bullies haven't finished bullying

Jack - what type of phone do you have?
Muslims have their own funeral businesses, they get discount graves, free green doc certs & death certs all coz theyre despatched within 24hrs of death.

I don't have a smartphone. I just use my laptop as I only use the internet at home.
Sorry about talking about another subject, AOG.

I could turn off predictive text on my older Nokia's but I don't know how to do it on my iphone or my Kindle's.
My Grandfather on my mother's side was Jewish, we still had to wait four days to bury him, despite his beliefs. My father's mother (Catholic) was buried after three days, so I'd stop worrying too much about your great white Christian queuing traditions if I were you, they appear to be alive and well despite all this.
Couldn't we just say our recently departed is a Muslim? What do you have to do to prove it?

What are you talking about... what is your point?
There seems to be some confusion here. As far as I can tell this is about Coroners' duties - not burials. Deaths that don't require a Coroner's report will, I presume, be carried out as they always have been.

I'll try that again. Deaths that don't require a Coroner's report will, I presume, be dealt with as they always have been.

In other words Jews and Muslims will be first in line at the Coroner's office, not at the undertakers.
“TTT what is the indigenous practise?”

In relation to this question, forming an orderly queue based on the order of arrival and not expecting to push up to the front because of some religious mumbo-jumbo.

“My Grandfather on my mother's side was Jewish, we still had to wait four days to bury him, despite his beliefs.”

Didn’t it occur to you that since (presumably) nothing untoward happened as a result of this outrageous delay, that his beliefs (usually based on fears) were perhaps without foundation?
It's nothing to do with religion really but culture. In very hot countries corpses will decompose very rapidly so it makes sense to dispose of them asap. In this country that is unnecessary.
// I take it you'd be content to be told when your arranged burial took place //

erm no - the coroners office releases the body - for you to dispose with in accordance to Law - ( no, not to do what you like with ) (*)
the coroners officer ( I can tell you ) doesnt ring up and say - "yeah I godda really nice service for you tomorrow wiv choir boys n all - good deal too - my brother in law." (**)

(*) before the cremation act 1908 old willie doo-dah exposed the body of his 10 y old son outside a welsh chapel in protest about something ( his death probably)
(**) they dont ring - and when you ring them it is more - "what the hell you want den? - we work ! you know dat ? we work dam hard for a pittance and you dont know how they smell after a few months"
// It's nothing to do with religion really but culture.//

erm yeah but no but
it is in holy books or nearly .... and have you been beaten around the head with a Bible - it is kinda heavier than a Qoran ?
PP In France Profond, where I lived, the few deaths and funerals which I attended were all carried out in a matter of days (4 at the absolute most) because of the lack of local refrigeration facilities.

Historically, Jews and Muslims lived in hot countries so the cultural tradition of rapid burial grew up. It is not necessary in the UK and so traditions don't count. It is a tradition, that's all. Join the queue, everyone.
As they say, an early funeral is a human right.
As long as you're dead and not a dirty kuffar presumably.
