he won't be going to jail in spain, and nor will he be returning to the uk any time soon. the likes of Mr Acourt can afford loophole lawyers of the very finest, who will tie the Spanish legal system in knots for years, and will ensure he remains on bail for the whole process.

Yes he will fight extradition and delay the process for many years. He will be free but his passport will be confiscated so he can't leave Spain. Mind you with his money he will probably buy a forged or stolen passport and a new ID and disappear again.
