Royal Wedding Disaster
Surely the Royals should have realised Meghan’s family - certainly her father - needed protecting, even coaching in how to cope and conduct themselves. For example, What the heck is the sister of the Royal bride doing appearing on ITV Good Morning Britain today? Thing is they’re just ordinary folk catapulted into an extraordinary situation, and their first thing ughts are publicity and profit. The Royals could easily afford to pay them to keep quiet. What a terrible mess they’re in now. For me it all comes down to whether Harry is marrying the right sort, if not the right person, and my answer is definitely not. I give it two yeas max. And when it inevitably fails, boy will she make them pay! But, in not protecting and guiding Meghan’s family from the off (the engagement at least) the Royals only have themselves to blame

you have a point Vern.. she certainly appears to offload friends and family..and husband... when of no further use to her... Mr M should have been picked up and put into quarantine in Kensington Palace 'till it was all over..

Guilbert.
"I always remember the day Charles and Diana got engaged and Charles was asked by a reporter "do you love her" and he said "whatever love is" "
What a stupid question that was.......he could have replied:
" No, I can't stand the woman"
OR
"Of course I love her".....yeah! right.
OR
"Whatever love is"
and in my opinion the last option was the sensible one.

The 'right sort' of what exactly?
Are you someone who pronounces the word 'girl' as 'gel, and 'off' as 'orf' - or are you making some veiled comment about ethnicity and social background?
Either way, your post indicates that you may well be a raging snob - please feel free to correct me if I am in error.

Interesting.
I am castigated for making this 'personal' while the vast majority pour scorn and vitriol on people they don't know from Adam, based on media reports they have read.
This thread comes across like a bunch of washerwomen offering sniffy snobby opinions over a garden fence - I shall be delighted to make this my last post on it. This kind of nasty gossip is pointless and mean.

Yes the RF could have taken her parents in hand, taught them etiquette, kitted them out in suitable clothes then we could all be here saying How patronising!
His older children bear a lot of responsibility for this fiasco, since it became known that they were an item the half sister in particular has been money-making mad, never off the TV or out of the sleazy magazines. Even her father is discussing his plans with a celebrity trash-site, how does anyone know why she hasn't seen him? Maybe he didn't want to be part of the media circus surrounding the wedding although he seems to have embraced them later.
I feel sorry for Harry, I would bet that he would pull out of this if he could.

I'm not sure what all the fuss is about really. The royals don't have a particularly great record as regards successful marriages, so if this one doesn't work it'll be a shame, but it won't be anything new or ground breaking.
But you know, let's give them a chance for chrissakes. No need to write it off before it's even begun. They both seem like nice people to me, and I wish them well.

i havent read it all but aren't all weddings mired in some sort of family problems? are you inviting auntie so and so - no she showed her knickers at the last family shindig, well you can't invite that side of the family - we had a falling out over decimalisation an havent spoken since and so on.
Lots of weddings are 2 sets of families baring their teeth at each other over the wedding breakfast.
I havent really been following the news, but if she wanted her dad to give her away and now she cant, that's really sad for her.
Many people forget that the middleton's were (reportedly) rather money grabbing before the wedding (except they did it in a posher way so that's ok!)
Harry is only a minor royal after all
