//Targeted euthanasia of the elderly would be the best solution. //

Perhaps a similar target should be applied to ALL the non indigenous bed blockers and consumers of NHS funds...…..perhaps just let em peg out if they don't belong here. :))
The concept of free wrt the NHS, like any other service funded by society, is related to no additional fee for use after you've contributed your fair share to the public purse.

I'm sure population numbers contribute to NHS problems, as it does to all limited resources.

Pity some need to make further foolish references to Brexit in yet another non-Brexit thread. Don't they ever cease creating a bad impression :-(
It is ONE reason for the failing NHS. As discussed in the other thread such things as (not exhaustive list and not in any particular order)

* Far too many managers promoted above their point of competence.
* Far too many Admin staff.
* Health Tourism.
* Poor (and expensive) IT. (Pay peanuts get monkeys)
* People living longer
* Exceptionally poor negotiating in procurement.
* Influx of low paid people from Eastern Europe claiming but hardly paying in. (And in Net terms not paying anything).
* Treatments being done that (eg cosmetic) that should not be done on the NHS.
* Far too many people taking unnecessary medicines.
* Far too many people except from paying for those medicines.
* Ludicrous GP arrangement bought in by Brown/Labour.

All these things, and others need to be tackled but as I said before the NHS is used as a political football so no Party is going to be willing to start change as it will be interpreted by the others as 'cuts' or 'privatisation'.

But, if it is not sorted then soon it will implode and we wont have it.
Notice the comment on AOG's link about Blair encouraging the borrowing spree to build hospitals? Cost to build £67/70 million. Pay back price £750 million...…..this is at a time of historically low interest rates. Any chance Bliar and Meddlesome got their payola this way?
Polish people have been here for decades. Most of them from after helping us out in ww2. So have the Irish who came over to help rebuild Britain after the war. The idea being that once things were sorted they would be able to return their own countries. However a lot of them decided to stay here.
JNO---for someone with such an angelic avatar you have made a vile suggestion.
If you still have parents and they are elderly would you apply your euthanasia plan to them??When the NHS was set up it was to take care of people from 'cradle to grave'.
In Blackburn when you go to the local hospital there are so many Asian patients that it feels like we are the foreigners .
andres, as soon as anyone is old enough to demonstrate that their sense of humour has vanished, that's it, time to defenestrate them.
Take their windows out?
My God---- Now jno wants to chuck the elderly out of windows!
hanging's too good for them.
Mon Dieu!----jno wants to chuck the elderly out of les fenetres now!
do you think if we had less migrants or very few, the nhs would be healthier...and 0 health tourists, would we still have the problems we have, i think were over populated and living longer, but more people keep arrving with no end in sight, government must be dreaming.
If Ed is worth his job , he should remove every answer on this thread made by jno.
