Welsh Smoking Ban
Do you agree with this?

Wales is to become the first country in the UK to ban smoking in outdoor school spaces, playgrounds and hospital grounds.
I like the idea of 'de-normalising' smoking. Making it seem somehow seedy. I say this as someone who smoked and LOVED IT for many years.
But...I think this might be a good idea.

Not everybody in direct contact with smokers dies from passive smoking, just as not every smoker dies from lung cancer, but both things are certainly contributory. And spath, this thread is about cigarettes, NOT drink or exhaust fumes !!

Smoking in the open air is to be banned?
I reckon I take more lungfuls of crap walking down The Strand from Charing Cross from the diesel fumes than I do from from people having a puff.
Had I come to this thread earlier, I'd have beaten TTTs countdown by stating the fact that smokers are net contributors.
Not that I have to give justification, but I'm not a smoker. I do however feel they are unjustly being considered pariahs.

As I have pointed out earlier, I only smoke within the confines of my own flat, never outdoors. That way I am harming no-one except possibly myself. Or so I thought. Last year we all had new kitchens installed. I was told by the Clerk of Works in no uncertain terms that I was forbidden to smoke in my flat whilst workmen were in the building (Elf'n Safety. doncha know). The irony was not lost on me when every 30 minutes or so the said workmen would disappear outside for a fag.
