Clearly this is an average and we still have many clever young people but is there some truth in this? Is this was we see some really irrational thought coming from some?

And before the PC Brigade and perpetually offended get the hump, I too disagre with the wording of the headline (using the word stupid).

I have always believed that a good score in an IQ test indicates that the subject is good at IQ tests.

Whether or not you regard IQ measurement as a genuine indicator of intelligence is a separate issue.

You can learn to pass IQ tests. It's not a terribly meaningful figure.

danny - it's not really important to know. Intelligence comes in so many forms. Someone who can't do a puzzle might be able to build you a house.

Yes I believe he is JTH, which is why he said dont bother. Looking at some of Spaths posts it really would be a total waste of time.

kvalidir, yes I agree we are doing a cracking job of dumbing down society in general. But how do we change?

For instance I see in here suggestions we change the test. How will that help in any way but to dumb down - and we no longer have a benchmark?
