It was a sarcastic remark, just the same as a great number of persons, black, white or in between, wouldn't recognise a 300 year portrait of someone, unless they were better well known and I don't think that our Edward Colston has that privilege.

The entire maritime history of the Port of Bristol is tied into the slave trade. The slave trade is what made Bristol what it is today. Without the slave trade Bristol would still be a small village that once had a fishing fleet.
