AOG, with regards to statistics proving 'most people think Tommy Robinson is a racist moron', well clearly there aren't any because no-one has ever polled the whole country asking that specific question, as i'm sure you know hence the question. However, let's look at it from another point of view which is altogether more provable.
Tommy Robinson was recently sent to jail for contempt of court, almost immediately one of his followers set up an online petition to get him released. this was twittered, Facebooked, Insta'd and all other types of social media extensively by his followers, as well as being reported in all national papers and on TV.
If the majority of the British people considered him to be unfairly imprisoned one would have expected a few more to actually sign the petition. Out of a population of over 66 and a half million people only 500,000 people signed it ( approximately 1 in 133 people). Now even accounting for those who didn't have access to sign, who couldn't sign for some other reason or who simply couldn't be arsed, that is a very small percentage. If you quadruple it to take into account people who would have if they could have signed it, it's still a very small percentage of people who think Tommy Robinson is an upstanding person. Now granted this is only one facet of his lack of public popularity but EDL marches are not well attended, counter marches are almost always at least 4 or 5 times larger and the EDL have no credible political presence which leads one to the conclusion that the British public almost unanimously rejects everything he stands for because his beliefs are backward and racist, as religious and political division are his key calling cards.

Love Island is an 'artificial bubble'. Full of young girls cavorting about and pretending to be ''in love'' when all they want is to make some kind of sexual impact on a peeping tom audience. Lads taking advantage of the situation. They must think all their birthdays have been rolled into one. Getting paid as well.!
If this girl wants to support Tommy Robinson then that's her choice.

Tou are aware Mr Robinson left the EDL? And what does the popularity of marches have to do with a single person?
Additionally I think you will find that whilst people think he should be in jail for what he did: contempt of Court, that does not translate into all not agreeing with some of the things he says.
Of course people like you on the liberal left dont like him and will use the usual name calling and cast assertions to try and silence him but in reality you probably only fuel his support.

I did indeed Naomi, and if you look at the statistics provided, I made allowances for that by quadrupling it. You can make further allowances if you like and 10 x it, and it's still a minute percentage of the population. Statistically very little is an absolute, but even if you scour the more generally right wing press (Daily Mail, Telegraph etc), you will be hard pressed to find anything truly positive written about him. He's by and large, no-one's hero, because he's not bright enough to be someone they can get behind and get their agenda furthered, not even most of the right wingers who are terrified of everything think he's the way forward, he's too unpalletable to the general populace.
kvalidir, The fact is, despite your fanciful notions of your preferred world view, no one can say how many support Tommy Robinson or otherwise. I’ve never marched about anything in my life and I’ve never been a member of a political party. Nevertheless I have definite opinions. It’s a ridiculous argument.
Kvaldir - You don't appear to know much about petitions. There are many 'good causes' that would be pleased to get the 100,000+ signatures that you removed from the Tommy Robinson total - his petition got over 600,000 signatures before the Government took it down long before its closing date (that is a very big number compared to the average).
I think you should be careful about using the word 'moron', you obviously don't know what the word means. Tommy Robinson may be many things but he's certainly not a moron.
To answer the question - if I used either social media or emojis, I would happily have given the clapping hands emoji to Tommy Robinson's 'returning jihadi's' statement too. The Love Island contestant has done nothing wrong in my opinion.

Tommy Robinson has quit EDL
Tommy Robinson sensationally quit the group he founded along with his deputy Kevin Carroll after they admitted it had been taken over by neo-Nazis.

Religious division is the calling card of Islam, and isn't political division the root of democracy?

I think you will find Naomi, that that was the very first I addressed when answering AOG.
I think I know every bit about something as random as online petitions as the next person Maisie, and imho Tommy Robinson is indeed a moron, he behaves in a way which is counter productive to his own agenda, relies on populsism ( which has historically never worked politically with the UK populace) and clearly either didn't understand he would be arrested and imprisoned or did but thought it would benefit him in some way. None of that indicates a towering intellect tbh.
As a point of order (I don't watch Love Island and have no idea who or what she is) but I think she is entirely entitled to her own political opinions, even if I think they are wrong, and I think calls for her removal are childish.
