This is turning from the relief of finding the boys to the devastation of one of the rescuers being killed trying to transport oxygen to the boys. I can't begin to imagine how these boys must be feeling right now and their parents too, not to mention all the rescuers risking their lives and their families. How on earth are they going to get them out of there?!

Has anyone asked for help from the drillers and engineers who got the Chilean miners out?
I think I heard it is going to take 4 or 5 tanks of air to get each of the boys out. The sheer scale of the operation is daunting.
And if the boys are nervous it could take more. When I went scuba diving my OH used twice as much air as me.
Cloverjo. They are more than 1 kilometre deep under hard solid rock. Drilling a rescue shaft, as they did with the Chilean miners is just not an option.
Oh my god. Even worse.
Sadly I don't hold out much hope of them all surviving :-(
But now it’s a race against the elements with more rain predicted to fall this weekend.

Thank you for the links. I'll be following them throughout the next few days.

I've seen some reports on Twitter, translated from Thai, that 1 or 2 boys are now in the mouth of the cave but I can't find anything on the news.

Anyone got any links?
I've just read that on FB, Tigger.

Thanks Mamya.

Searched FB, Ummmm and found Mamya's link. Cheers

Hope this is a good sign and that everyone can get out alive. Saw a clip of part of the cave that's underwater and looks like a u-bend and it gave me palpitations!
The more one panics, the more oxygen is used. As some of the lads can't swim, I would hazard a guess that keeping them calm as they travel under water will be a very hard task for the rescuers. Needless to say, i hope all get out unscathed.
This will go a long way to giving hope to everyone - please goodness they continue to make progress.
Absolutely mamya.
