France is turning into a basket case.

I bet Angela wishes it was Frexit not Brexit.
Protesting about loosing subsidies.

They might find they loose a bit more when our £ isn’t propping up their over priced agri products.
tail wagging the dog, inept farmers milking the system and have done for years...
If you think they're bad when they're protesting, wait until you see them when they're revolting.
So a cycle race is more important than farmers' livelihoods. Good oh

Looks like their daily routine is wake up, have breakfast, tend to crops&animals then revolt, protest, riot then come home to some wine a Brie filled baguette then repeat again tomorrow.
Do you have a personal opinion that doesn't include a link?
it's a bit unusual for les flics to get involved - they normally stand back and watch. so maybe a bike race IS more important than farmers' livelihoods.
And you know that because you have personal experience?
//And you know that because you have personal experience? //

my parents live in Perpignan, in my travels back and forth I have plenty of experience of the regular (in)activity of the authorities when protests are in full swing. it just seems so odd that they should take such a proactive stance when the "tour de france" is involved, unless they were ordered to. on that basis to some, the race takes priority. for the public, a protest just has to be endured with lots of shrugging and the certainty it'll be finished before le weekend.
> When Are French Farmers Not Protesting?

When they're revolting.
and if they are not revolting then they have a habit of urinating over Brit riders - and their fellow prats in trying to attack them, wit one arrested.

It’s a pity they don’t follow these farmers example.

They're brilliant at protesting - I have to admire them. They blocked all the main roads into Paris with tractors once and at Poitiers there is a huge shopping mall centred on Auchan - about 8 huge entrances - and one morning the farmers willed all the entrances with dung, floor to ceiling!
^^ That is personal experience. Greves are treated with a gallic shrug. Most annoying are the 3kph motorway-blocking tactics.

You would have thought that France would be the happiest place in the world after Winning the World Cup and protesting and rioting like we’ve seen.
well when you are robbing Peter to pay Paul do not be surprised if Paul has a hissy fit when Peter stops being robbed. expect more when we are not paying for the disastrous CAP.
No matter what your grievance is guy have no right to block roads which is a reckless and selfish thing to do.
Compared to the abuse and violence meted out to Chris Froome and co tho it was harmless tho frustrating
