I'm not sure what your view is then, naomi. You have been so vocal about Islam that I wouldn't expect you to be satisfied with a face veil ban. But we live and learn. Please correct me if I'm wrong though- I know I sometimes am (as I am sometimes reminded ).

Muslims aren’t married in church. Many of them marry in Islamic religious ceremonies – but those marriages aren’t valid in law. I saw for the very first time yesterday, a woman in the full burqa. Everybody was looking at her and I found it very distressing that anybody would want to go out on a warm day dressed like that, so completely covered up. It was hard to hear her talk at the till in the shop and anyone could have been hidden under there. To be frank, I also didn't feel safe and I wasn't the only one. I agree with everything naomi has said and I simply do not understand how anyone can defend, in any way, such a garment!
