Who on earth makes their own daughter a prostitute??????
I didn't need to read it in the bible to make sure I didn't urge my daughters down that particular career opportunity!!!!
Leviticus 21:9 If a priest’s daughter defiles herself by becoming a prostitute, she also defiles her father’s holiness, and she must be burned to death.
Should we be scanning the headlines for a priest who has burned his daughter to death for being a prostitute?
Or am I just choosing random selections to demonstrate that you can find justification for murderous actions in a holy book if you really want to - but the majority of people don't slavishly follow that bit - do they?

Spath, off the top of my head I can’t think of anything in the bible that refers negatively to blacks or to abortion. I can think of a verse in the Old Testament that declares homosexuals to be an abomination and should be killed, also a verse that declares disobedient children should be disposed of in a similar manner – but no mainstream Christian church endorses those punishments. They are not tenets of the Christian church – and neither are the actions of the KKK.
andy-hughes, //Why would you expect to? Christianity doesn't encourage the killing of prostitutes.
Er, I think you'll find it does actually!!!

Leviticus is a book of the Old Testament. The Christian church doesn’t endorse those laws. Keep up.

TTT - // However we don't tarnish all Christians with their bad deeds, now, do we? " - we will when they start flying passenger planes into buildings. //
Is that the royal 'we'?
I shan't be tying all people of a faith together because of a few murderers - you can find them anywhere, even atheists do it!

I know - Christians are entitled to ignore huge swathes of the bible because it contains nonsensical garbage like that.
I just happen to think that Muslims should be extended the same courtesy.

I think it took more than a few odd balls to commit the 2 towers atrocity AH. Then of course there was the celebration of the muslim world who we know give tacit approval. Not to mention the lefty gloating throughout the media about the slaying of the great satan. More than a few "oddballs" AH. As a QT veteran yourself, what did you think of the islamic love in arranged by the BBC so they could berate the US ambasador the week after 911?
andy-hughes. You extend them that courtesy if you want to. I prefer to remember that since the bible is not claimed to be the direct word of God it is open to interpretation – whereas the Koran is deemed to be the direct and irrefutable word of Allah and is therefore beyond reproach and unalterable.

Obviously, but lined up against the rest of the Muslim world who had nothing to do with it, it hardly stacks up as involvement by everyone does it?

The 'Muslim world?' You mean a few mouth-pieces who got their abhorrent views into the media? Please see above.
// Not to mention the lefty gloating throughout the media about the slaying of the great satan. //
Once again, please see my first point.
If you think 'lefty gloating in the media' is an indication of the view of the man on the Clapham omnibus, then you are less aware of reality than I know you to be.

I am not a 'veteran' - I appeared once on the programme, and I don't recall the 'Islamic love in' to which to you refer, so I am unable to comment.

Thanks for your permission, I would have done anyway.

You and I know perfectly well that there are Muslims and Christians who abide by the extreme misinterpretations of their holy tomes to justify their own murderous urges and behaviour.
And there is a vast majority who take the parts of their books that allow them to lead perfectly normal safe respectable lives, hurting no-one.
The evidence for that is the world we live in.
The 'Muslim apocalypse' which you prophesy with wearying regularity shows no sign of appearing anytime soon, which rather backs up my premise - the majority of Muslims are perfectly decent people who have no desire to 'take over' anything.

AH: "I am not a 'veteran' - I appeared once on the programme, and I don't recall the 'Islamic love in' to which to you refer, so I am unable to comment. " - seriously? I thought you where better than that! The BBC invited the US ambassador on and filled the audience with Muslims and lefties. Look it up.
andy-hughes, //I would have done anyway.//
More fool you then.
//The 'Muslim apocalypse' which you prophesy with wearying regularity shows no sign of appearing anytime soon//
Really? You’ve missed the news in Europe over the past few years then. Whether it be by violence or by stealth, it is incumbent upon each and every Muslim to advance the cause of Islam – and Islam is advancing daily.
