/// Khadim Rizvi, the firebrand cleric who founded the TLP, said that condemnation of the contest by the Pakistani government was not enough and “only jihad” was the solution. ///
/// Before Pakistan’s general election last month, Rizvi said if he had the power he would order a nuclear strike against the Netherlands if its government allowed the competition to go ahead. ///
I think you are all (well mainly all) missing the point. Here we have a leader (or at least a prominent figure) suggesting that because Islam has been insulted it justifies violence of an extreme nature being visited on the country in which the insult originated. It doesn't matter whether he has the capability to carry out his threat or the power to do so. There...
// The march, organised by Tehreek-e-Labbaik (TLP), a political party dedicated to the punishment of blasphemy, presents the first major test of Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) administration. Last year, a similar protest by the TLP shut down the capital, Islamabad, for almost a month //
don't think the Dutch are threatened or insulted by this load of Muslim baloney. If you want to upset them, just let them know (i) that they descend from the Germans (ii) they live on ten thousand years of brown stuff from Germany and Switzerland.
Or you can always refer to their pecuniary habits - the difference between a Yorkshireman and Dutchman - the latter is a Yorkshireman - without a sense of generosity.
//and - - if he had the power
he doesnt ( er have the power ) //
no. but in the other incident mentioned in the OP report, the one about the blasphemous election oath? he didn't have the power to change that either. but it got changed because his followers blocked the motorways for 2 weeks and held those that did have the power to ransom.....

It doesn't matter whether he has the capability to carry out his threat or the power to do so. There are large numbers of people of a similar opinion living in Europe and they are of that opinion for one reason only - because they subscribe to a religion that can tolerate no contrary opinion or no ridicule whatsoever. Such heresy is threatened with (and on one or two notable occasions, actually resulted in) extreme violence. People who say these opinions don't matter because they are being voiced from a strange land many thousands of miles away seem to have forgotten that since the religion in question last moved forward (if indeed it ever did) aircraft and ships have been invented.
