"nazis" They Say, But What Do They Know?
The anti-mass migration Sweden Democrats (SD) have promised to reduce both asylum claims and chain migration — or ‘family reunification’ — to zero, and look set to become the major party in today's elections, but the left refer to them as "Nazis" - even on Swedish TV- which is rapidly becoming a term of abuse used by the left against anyone who doesn't agree with their world-view, and I suggest without understanding just what "Nazism" was (or became).
An example of exactly what Nazism was within society is contained in a book review I have just been reading this morning of 'Father and Son' which was a famous and well-loved comic strip in Germany in the 30s and 40s. Its creator; E.O.Plauen received censure in the 30s after drawing a cartoon of a drunk peeing a swastika in the snow, but "in 1944 he was betrayed by a neighbour for disparaging talk about the regime [nothing more] and was sentenced to death and committed suicide the night before his hearing".
That was Nazism.

I sometimes wonder if you live in the real world! The foreign born immigrants in Sweden are now nearing 20% with non-Swedish crime at a record high.
I quote a Swedish person who believes; “The old Sweden is dead, the Sweden where women felt safe and where we were paying taxes to help ourselves — our children, our elderly, our disabled — and not to benefit people who come here from the other side of the world to live a comfortable life in unemployment with their extended family."
I personally know a woman who having lived there for many years (30 about) has finally had to leave with her daughters because of fear for all of their safety.

pumpjack; Yes, childish isn't it?
Gromit, with no clear winner it looks like the Swedish Dems will be king- maker, and their bargaining chip? .....
"SWEDEN Democrats pledged to use Brexit as a blueprint for their country’s withdrawal from the European Union, with senior members of the party vowing to call for an EU referendum in the immediate aftermath to today’s general election to do “like the British did”."
So, it ain't all over 'til the fat lady sings :0)

No one is calling you a Nazi pumpjack.
These people are very Swedish ‘nazis’ mind you: more than a veneer of respectability, but I believe they actually want zero immigration.
As gromit indicates tho, while one should be mindful of the rise in their support, the percentage return for the main ‘liberal fascist’ party (the far left don’t have a monopoly on crude labelling) is one that many other parties in Europe must be jealous of.

The Sweden Democrats achievement of nearly 18% for a party coming from nowhere is quite rightly a worrying phenomena for the standing parties, but 18% may not be even be the full story;
"When the polling station at the Annedals School in Gothenburg opened, the Sweden Democrats’ party papers were nowhere to be found. It was only when SVT News called more than two hours later that SD ballot papers were added to the others.
“This is extremely serious and we will get to the bottom of this,” says Jörgen Fogelklou, the chairman of SD in Gothenburg."
Lots of death threats have been flying around too. Yes, Sweden isn't what it once was!

Pretty much exactly what Jim said. the third Reich wasn't conjured up over night, it was gradual and insidious and very much not anything anyone in Germany too seriously initially, that's why we are all so on our guard now. This sort of reasoning cannot be allowed to flourish without at least being stringently examined and questioned.
Yes I absolutely do. Especially after Brexit and the yes no capaign there where mssive untruths and spin was used by both sides, we do need to examine carefully everything that we see and hear. Everything needs questioning left and right, but where we have such a clear example which went before us of how this type of thought process matures into something truly heinous and terrible w need to pay special attention.
I too know people in Sweden, including a family of four. They are not at all worried about their safety, Sweden's culture or an awful lot else (I just asked them) nor is anyone they know. None of them voted for SD and they live within Malmö and environs where arguably a disproportionate amount of trouble has been seen. Sweden has not exactly an unblemished record - Olof Palme was assassinated, remember, and that was in 1986 (i.e. a little before the immigration "flood"). Also, SD did not come from nowhere into this election - they have been gradually increasing their tally of votes and in the last election they got 13%. Those who want to sound alarms need to look elsewhere for their "look, Sweden too" whoopin' and a hollerin'.
The attitude of your Swedish friends is born out by the election voting; 82% did not vote for SD. But the Swedish system will allow at least the concerns of the minority to be heard, which is more than can be said for the UK system, where 4 million people voted for UKIP and got not a single MP elected.

Quite right Khandro, see this:

‘Hitler's involvement with Islam is very well documented’ I’ve never denied the connection. What I’m criticising is your rather strange interpret of what Nazism is. Ever been to auschwitz? If you have you’ll realise your interpreting using the one example in your OP doesn’t really scratch the surface of what it really was / is.
