//I tell you a story, it's a true one
And I'll tell it like you'll understand
And ain't gonna talk like some history man
I look out and I see a land
Young and lovely, hard and strong
For fifty thousand years
We've danced her praises
Prayed our thanks and we've just begun
This is, this is the country in which I live
Young and growin' free and flowin' sea to sea
Yes this is the country in which I live
Ripe and bearing miracles in ev'ry pond and tree
Her spirit walks the high country
Givin' free wild samples
And settin' an example how to give
Yes, this is the country in which I live
Retchin' and turnin', she's like a baby learnin' how to live

Do I read right from my Queen of Brexit ? that she doesnt agree with decisions to leave the EU that I didn't vote for
how different how very different from the usual tune she sings
a slim majority of voters voted for Brexit so the rest of us have to lump it....

andy-hughes,
// It's not OUR country, it's the country we live in, a subtle but important distinction. //
It may not be your country, but it is certainly mine, shared of course with, all those other true English persons, who's ancestors have fought for, worked hard for. paid for and died for, so as to make it the country that most non English persons, now seem to want to settle in.

AOG & emmie - completely agree.
PP I am sure you know that France only voted to join the EU (in whatever incarnation it then was) by a mere 1/2% and that was after the votes came in from one of the outre-mers. As Harold Wilson said (I remember him saying it) '1 vote is enough' - although I agree that a recount would then have been in order. :) 4% is a perfectly reasonable majority vote.

/// and believe me, offending me is really quite hard to do! ///
Chuckle, chuckle, chuckle, that's rich coming from the person who gets offended if he is addressed by his surname. //
I don't find it offensive, I find it disrespectful, there is a difference.
But let's not derail the thread by going down this road yet again - shall we not?
Appreciate it.
