The Irish Border????

There are only two solutions to the Irish border question in the brexit context and they are united Ireland and UK remains in EU. I see no problem with either solution!!!!

I'm not arguing that either Douglas, but we can't have a hard border, that would be suicide, it's not workable- so I guess we'll just have to stay in the EU ;-)

I don't see Ireland ever being united. It ain't gonna happen. As to the border, when the politicians have finished waffling things will go on as normal. The border is all but invisible anyway, it always has been, just the odd post here and there that says so. There are so many wee lanes and small side roads, I can't see a border post being put on every one of those. It won't change.

You do seem to get it wrong Rich. Not only is the reasonable solution that the EU agrees a trade deal that allows an open border, whuch is neither of the claimed solutions you were able to come up with as the 'only" solutions; neither if your suggested ones solve much.

The first risks starting up the Irish "troubles" again since loyalists want to remain part of the UK and have fought against republicans imposing a split previously, so an inability to see a problem there must be rather worrying for you. The second is an abominable betrayal of the nation and it's people who voted to get their nation back. Again an inability to grasp that suggests you have issues you might want to check out.

On the other hand, if your post was simply a deliberate troll, then that suggests you are likely to have issues you might want to check out.

That stated, there's nothing wrong with Ireland being united as soon as the south opts to be part of the United Kingdom once more. Need to convince the republicans though.
