Further to Spath's thread about the lady spy on bank notes, who do you think we ought to honour with a place on the notes? Both serious and flippant replies welcome. x
I think:-
Alan Turing
JRR Tolkien
Emily Bronte
Robert Thompson
William Morris
I was going to say Jocelyn Bell Burnell, the astrophysicist, but I've just seen she was born in N Ireland. Might not be eligible.
Actually, don't they have to be dead as well?
Great choice, kval - esp William Morris, who, along with other Arts and Crafts luminaries I have a soft spot for. How about ALL the Bronte sisters (I think there's a portrait of all 3)
Me too, kval - I live near where C R Ashbee brought his Guild of Handicrafts in 1902.
Don't know where you're based, but if you can get to near Guildford, I thoroughly recommended the beautiful Grade 1-listed Watts Chapel:

Yeah exactly GG, I've never seen Watts chapel so I will make it my business to have a look when I can- life gets in the way though so not sure when but I'll see it, it looks amazing x
