Can a curry be racist, really?

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-6351085/Sainsburys-accused-lazy-casual-racism-golden-Persian-curry.html

\\Sainsbury's accused of 'lazy, casual racism' over its 'Persian curry' recipe//

\\But the dish sparked fury among some readers who labelled it a poor attempt at traditional Persian cuisine, and pointed out it featured ingredients that 'no Iranian will ever mix into a stew.'//
Fury ?

\\Readers took to social media to share their outrage after spotting the recipe.//
Outrage?

I wonder who made the recipie ?

looks like peeps are confusing the words' inaccurate' and 'racist'

Outrage, Good Grief. At least get outraged at something important such as milk or tea first in the cup or jam before cream. I'm outraged at the outrageous-ness of it all.
It's amazing how often you find the words 'social media' and 'outrage' in the same sentence.

People making a fuss about something unimportant, so a normal day in cyber-land.
Most folk wouldn't recognise an authentic curry if it hit them in the gob.

All that was needed was some sarcastic comments, along the lines of..
"Talk about massacring a Persian dish, nice try 1/10 must try harder"

No need to bring racism into it.

I don't think that's where an authentic curry normally hits, Maggie (cue famous Johnny Cash song...…)
Ooooh Mushroom you are awful, but I like you!
Best not tell them that food from our high street Indian and Chinese restaurants and ready meals could never been found anywhere in India or China.
None of the comments quoted that I can see mention racism.
who cares, people get outraged over just about anything these days. I mean people by ready made meals who knows what is in them, could be kangaroo meat, or anything at all.
On this one, Sainsbury's - an agha......
Trigger words, that's all, brought to you by lazy journos.
Perhaps Sainsbury should of added to their apology. We will no longer promote a dish similar to what you are used to as long as you don;t expect us to sell Halal meat in the UK to people who are not happy with it in our stores.
The exit doors out of the UK are not locked and barred.
nobody's said the curry was racist.
The people moaning about this really, really need to get a grip and enter the real world. Wish that was all I had to worry about ! That recipe looks delicious to me ...
Apropos
I don't recall our Sikhs and Benghali friends up in arms years ago when Vesta Curries were introduced in powder form in a box. Now that was a dire misrepresentation. Not fit for a RTE pack.
No.
So angry that Sainsburys apologised.
i am not angry but disappointed that they did, seems pointless.
retrocop, Vesta Curries lol, i remember them
